WALKERS, RUNNERS of all abilities, and ANIMAL LOVERS! Join us for a quiet morning in the country and the 4th Annual “Run for the Rescue” to raise funds toward the needs of the Peacefield horses and to raise awareness of the issue of unwanted, abused and neglected horses in the Wabash Valley!

The out-and-back course: The 5k race/fitness walk begins & ends at Peacefield (9811 East Davis Ave. Terre Haute, IN 47805). Runners and walkers will head west on Davis to Main, then south on Main to Grotto, turn around past the Vigo County Conservation Club (corner of Grotto and Randall), then head back to the finish at Peacefield. Water will be available at the turn-around area. All kilometers are clearly posted on this accurate and moderately challenging course. The streets are not closed to traffic, but will be well marked for safety.
5K Pre-registration options: EARLY BIRD PRE-REGISTRATION is highly recommended to receive a discounted entry and ensure a tee shirt. The Early Bird fee is $30 for the 5k. Enter online or print and mail your entry to Run for the Rescue, 5046 N. Miami Gardens St., Brazil, IN 47834. Early Bird pre-registration closes April 8. Registrations will still be accepted during the week of April 8-14, but the fee will go up to $35. Please make checks payable to: Peacefield Equine Sanctuary.
Race day registration: You may register on race day from 8:00-8:45 a.m. at the rescue, but please note that the fee goes up to $40 per person (5k) and tee shirt sizes may be very limited.
Packet pickup for all pre-registrants: will be held from 8:00-8:45 a.m. at the rescue. All waivers will be signed at packet pickup.
Prizes: All entrants will receive a well-stocked goody bag and delicious post-race refreshments donated by our very generous sponsors. Awards will be presented at approx. 10:30 a.m. to the top two male and female finishers in each age group in the 5k run. No awards will be presented for walkers, but all walk entrants are eligible for prize drawings during the award ceremony. T-shirts are given to all pre-registered entrants and while supplies last to race day entrants.
5K Run Age Groups (male and female): 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ [Use age as of April 15, 2017.]
NEW THIS YEAR! Weather permitting (no rain or extreme mud), we will offer a free kids “Steeplechase” event for kids 8 and under in the pasture at 10 a.m. The kids will be able to run an approximate 200 yard loop which includes low jumps and various horse-related obstacles. Each child will receive a ribbon at the finish. Parents are welcome to accompany their children.
