Horses of Peacefield
There are two types of horses here at Peacefield Equine Sanctuary. "Sanctuary Horses" are those horses who will live out their lives at PES. "Rehab Horses" are those horses who needed another chance -- and most likely some training. Rehab horses may be available for adoption to appropriate homes in the future.
We also have a category for "Fostered Horses." These are horses which were part of our herd for rehab purposes in order to become useful members of equine society. Horses that are fostered are not currently living at PES.
An Ounce of Hope, aka Annie, is a 2006, 16.3 hand chestnut Thoroughbred mare who came to us in September of 2008. Her bloodlines include Mr. Propspector and Caro -- both wonderful sires for Thoroughbred sporthorses. She was diagnosed with EPM and is currently recovering.
Petey is a 2002 palomino pinto gelding who suffers from chronic uveitis. He is completely blind.
Danny is a 1988 Welsh pony who joined the PES herd in 2010. He suffers from Cushings.
Rockin' Revival, aka Weed, is a 1998 registered Quarter Horse gelding with Jaguar Rocket bloodlines. He was shown in AQHA Hunter Under Saddle and Over Fences classes.
Diamond is a 2006 large pony gelding. He is a flashy black-bay with white stripe and pasterns. Diamond was rescued during a large seizure in 2014. When rescued, he was still a colt and it was apparent he'd had very little human contact. He is currently still going through the rehab process. We think he will make a fantastic driving prospect.
Cherokee is a a 2005 black and white pinto gelding. He has mild uveitis in his left eye. He was rescued in a large seizure in 2014 and is still going through the rehab process.
Windy is a 1998 chestnut Quarter Horse mare. She is currently being fostered.
